A great way to celebrate Earth Day!!

Bommer Canyon is now a National Natural Landmark.....and we were asked to be apart of it. About 37,000 acres of Irvine Ranch land, extending from Crystal Cove to the foothills of Saddleback Mountain, was recognized Tuesday as the country's newest National Natural Landmark.

Inspired Events was asked to do all of the flowers for the event and my good friend Steffani Foxcroft over at Urban Bake was asked to do all of the food. We had 3 days notice to order flowers and get 34 centerpieces done! It was so fun though and really exciting since Governer Arnold Schwarzenegger came to Bommer Canyon to do the dedication.

Bommer Canyon is the most beautiful backdrop for an event. I can just picture the most amazing outdoor wedding there!

Vintage Orange

The lovely girls over at Sugarpaper helped out on this one! The vintage orange and grey wedding was inspired by the beautiful letterpressed invitations done by Chelsea, one of the owners of Sugarpaper, for her sister Jen's wedding. We decided to just run with the theme and added oranges into the centerpieces in vintage grey urns. It was at the Muckenthaler Mansion in Fullerton, so it felt right to go with the vinatge theme to complement the historic mansion. Take a look at the pictures provided by Jack Coleman Photography!

A new beginning for the New Year!

Last weekend Inspired Events teamed up with Couture Beauty to throw a "Start to the New Year/ Makeover" party at Orange County Interfaith Homeless Shelter. Couture Beauty brought in some of Orange County's finest hair sylists and makeup artists for a day of beauty and family portraits. With the help of some generous vendors we were able to make the day so special for these families who are less fortunate than us. After getting their new haircut, makeup done, painting, jumping in the bounce house and having lunch, each family was able to take family portraits. To see the smiles on these family's face was unforgettable. They were so excited, so thank you to Couture Beauty and their team, Haute Cakes for the boxed lunches, Party Bounce for keeping the kid's entertained, Maxine Orange for spending your afternoon painting with the children, Scott Grady for your donation, Urban Bake for providing breakfast and snacks, Liz Duncan for volunteering your time, Allie Bernier for capturing the moments and Greg for taking the most amazing portraits of these families that they can cherish forever.

Sincerely,

Katie

Cook/Robek Wedding

This wedding was straight from the pages of a magazine! I couldn't have picked a better looking couple or a more beautiful location. The ceremony and reception took place at The Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach, CA overlooking Newport Harbor. It helped that the bride's sister is a local florist, so she went above and beyond. We worked together on the design for 3 months. To see if come to fruition was amazing. We had such a fun team of wedding vendors that included, Aarron Delesie (photography), Jeff from Elysium Productions (videography), Courtney from Three Seas (flowers), and The Fabulous Pelicans from San Diego (entertainment). We had to kick people out at the end because no one wanted to stop dancing!!

Jamie and Evan's wedding- Malibu Pier

You would think this came off the pages of Martha Stewart, but this is my good friend Jamie's wedding. It was an amazing day! It took place on the Malibu Pier, which set the tone for a truly unique experience. She is the owner of Sugarpaper, a high end paper boutique, so she had a hand in every detail. Her coordinater did an amazing job and her photographer, Red Loft Studios were fabulous!

4th of July Party

This party was so much fun to coordinate. The hosts, Stephanie and Laurah, were the best. They just wanted their friends and family to have a day filled with fun. Guests enjoyed the day time at Laurah's on the sand in Newport Beach with a live reggae band, while the kids had their own party with a 20' water slide and face painter. Later that evening we moved the party over to Stephanie's on the bay for dinner and fireworks. Such a fun day! Thank you to Picnics Deli for the amazing food.

Kari Feinstein's Style Lounge- MTV Movie Awards Gifting Suite

This was a fun one....challenging....but fun! I recreated the look and feel of KIN boutique, located in sunset plaza, in the $25 million dollar mansion overlooking the main ballroom of Kari Feinstein's Style lounge for the MTV movie awards. Exclusive clientele like Brooke Shields, Kim Kardashian, Jessica Alba, Maria Menounos, and many more were able to indulge in hand picked gifts from top clothing designers. It was a fun day filled with interesting celebrity sightings and a lot of work!!

I think the best part were the invitations that I did for the press. They were paint cans with the invitation printed onto stickers that wrapped the entire can with t-shirts inside for each of the invitees.

Brookstreet WWII Themed Party

Brookstreet Securities wanted to show their 700 employees a good time at the end of their 3 day conference in Huntington Beach with a fairwell dinner and dance. Well....we took the WWII themed event to whole another level! The guests enjoyed martinis while taking polaroid pictures with our cigarette girls before entering into the army tent facade and into a ballroom with a 17 piece swingband and the Andrew Sisters as the entertainment. Their were surprises throughout the evening including real 1940s Army jeeps, cigarette girls passing out candy cigars and donuts individually wrapped with the companie's logo. At the end of the evening there was a mad rush to grab the last of the centerpieces, which were 1940s fighter jet model airplanes. It was such a fun party! Thanks to Couture Beauty for transforming our models into 1940s Pin Up Models.

Bertell/Florie Wedding

I spent this past weekend in Palm Springs for the wedding of Kenna and Brett Florie. It was truly an amazing weekend and I feel privileged to say I was apart of it. Their friends and family celebrated all weekend with the start of the rehearsal dinner at the Brett's parent's house and then off to a spa day for the girls and golfing for the guys. The reception took place while the sun was setting over the mountains at Thunderbird Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Ca. We couldn't have been luckier with the weather. It was 112 degrees the day before and it ended up a perfect 85 degrees the night of the wedding!! Congrats to the Newlyweds!
